A few times a year we come together to give our church building and grounds a thorough cleaning and decluttering. Let's get our building ready for our fall programs and have fun together doing it!
Grubby Sunday Chore List
Prayer Garden
- Trim away volunteer trees and weed
- Pick up sticks and limbs, place on blue tarps for removal
- Pick up all trash and debris (recycle or trash) bag accordingly
- Clean benches with light soapy water
- Spray the poison ivy
Pine Trees/Labyrinth/RainGarden
- Pick up all trash and debris (recycle or trash) bag accordingly
- Pick up sticks and limbs, place on blue tarps for removal
Sanctuary
- Inspect all hymn racks for trash, organize hymnals and bibles
- Repair broken hymn racks
- Use magic erasers on marks found on the pews
- Use wood oil for Pulpit, Baptismal fount, alter table
- Wash interior windows and dust all windowsills
- Inspect all baseboards and clean, sweep away cobwebs
Narthex
- Inspect and spot clean all furniture, focus on smudges, chair &n table legs
- Deep clean dust everywhere, baseboards, blinds
- Wash interior windows and dust all windowsills
- Repair knob on dresser in entry way
Choir Area
- Inspect all blue chairs, toss trash (recycle as much as possible).
- Thoroughly vacuum risers and all-around sound equipment and organ
- Organize Hymnals and music neatly
Portico/Trash Cans
- Sweep away all cobwebs from ceiling and windows
- Clean all windows and wash sills with light soapy water as necessary
- Clean out outdoor trash receptacles – hose out and dry, bag all trash
- Empty cigarette receptacle
Restrooms
- Clean walls, baseboards, light switches – things not normally cleaned on a regular basis
- Inspect for cobwebs and sweep away.
- Clean outsides of toilet bowel, concentrating on the area around the floor
- Install an air freshener pack behind each toilet
- Notify Prop Ops to any problems with the bathrooms
Gathering Room
- Move all furniture away from walls and sweep/mop as necessary
- Tidy cabinets, drawers – seek guidance from fellowship for where things go.
- Razor scrape glue that is oozing up from the floor tiles
- Clean out the refrigerator
